Local Nursing Home Statistics

St. Johns:

  • 37 Covid Positve Patients
  • 12 Employees Covid Positive
  • 10 Patient deaths

St. Anns:

  • 36 Covid Positive Patients
  • 27 Employees Covid Positive
  • 10 Patient Deaths.

St. Anns leadership stated that Covid positive patients that do not want to go to the hospital, can stay at the facility if those are their wishes. Leadership felt that this way, their patients would not be occupying hospital beds!

No numbers reported from the Episcopal Homes – Mt. Hope/Thurston Rd/ or the Jewish Home. They only have to report it to the state if they have more than 5 deaths.

Patient signature requirement changes for Suspected or COVID Positive Patients

CMS has ruled that verbal consent from the patient can used to sign on behalf of the patient, therefore reducing the risk of contamination of equipment, pens etc.

DOCUMENTATION must be done that the patient gave verbal consent to sign on their behalf. This can be done in the remarks section of the signature page, this will still be a section 1 signature.

Example: “Patient was a suspected (or known) COVID-19 patient and gave us verbal consent to sign on the patient’s behalf.”

"Economic Impact Payment" New tool to expedite receipt of your cash

In the last 24 hours, the IRS has added a tool to update your tax account records with your direct deposit information in order to expedite your share of the stimulus package you have heard so much about.  If you have not received your direct deposit, are eligible, and like money, please look into this!

You will need your most recent tax return, routing number and account number handy.

Daily Update 04/14/2020

General Operation Updates:

  • As a reminder, N95 masks are of limited quantity and you are responsible for them both on and off duty. From a supply standpoint, we cannot afford to replace masks for employees leaving them on the ambulances after each shift.  Please take them with you and take care of them while off duty.
  • We are working on getting a donation of a small supply of supply of full face shields (as seen below). Though it would be a limited supply, if anyone is interested in wearing one please email Deputy Chief Bove at and he will let you know when we get them. These are ideal for those that wear glasses, and will also prolong the life of masks by keeping the mask clean and dry.

Daily Update 04/09/2020
Daily Updates
- BP is offering .50 cents off gas for all first responders – in order to sign up follow the link here:

General Operation Updates:
- ALL Monroe Ambulance Employees are Fit tested for the use of an N95 Respirator. If you have not been tested and need to be, contact OR 585.301.8950 ASAP

*** PLEASE NOTE: Employees have been fit tested to a specific Respirator. If you are in need of a replacement, you shall first attempt to get the same Make and Model of the one you were tested with. If that respirator is not available, then you will need to be fit tested with a new one.
o There are currently enough respirators that employees were tested with, so you should be able to get the same make and model at this time
o You are responsible for knowing the model/size you wear. In the event you do not know this information, contact Scott Flynn.
- Any change in facial features (Including facial hair, major dental work, etc.) should get re-tested
- Temporarily – N95s have been deemed reusable by CDC. That said, if your mask meets any of the following criteria, REPLACE IT!
o Damaged, torn, sliced, or broken straps
o Wet or Soiled
o Does not fit

- AT NO TIME shall any employee be denied a fit test if there is any question that a test is needed

IT Updates:
- When you wipe down laptops with CaviWipes, etc., please turn off the laptop first and wait at least five minutes before powering it back on to allow the cleaner to dry. Thanks and stay safe!
