ADULT MOBILE INTENSIVE CARE PATIENT TRANSPORT

In 2002, Monroe established its ground-based inter-facility Critical Care Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Transport Service. A select group of Monroe paramedics, trained to the CCEMTP level and/or with 80 hours of specialized MICU training (including ventilator management) now provide this vital service to patients throughout the community whenever needed. Patients needing intensive cardiac care or ventilator dependant are transported in one of Monroe’s specially designed vehicles which feature infusion pumps, ventilators and other advanced airway equipment - bringing a more specialized level of cardiac & ALS care into the region.
